What to order
Why go
Adobe is the room many travelers picture when they imagine dinner in San Pedro: a long adobe-brick hall with a crackling fireplace, wooden tables and live Andean music most nights. It has fed the town for decades, and the formula still works — fire-cooked meats, llama and quinoa plates, pisco sours mixed properly. Order the cordero al palo if you are hungry, or split the llama steak, which is leaner and more gamey than it looks.
In high season (June–August and the December–February summer holidays) book at dusk, around 19:30, or you will queue on Caracoles with every tour group returning from Valle de la Luna. Prices sit at US$ 15–25 per person (≈ CLP 15,000–24,400). If the big room is full, the town's other long-standing sit-down, La Casa de la Buena Mesa, is a few steps away and takes a similar broad-menu approach.
